10a.m. Registration & Tea & Coffee main hall

WORKSHOPS

Workshops will start 11:30am. They will be situated around the village hall area, check out the posters in the hall for full details. Special Consensus (USA) will take the workshops.

Throughout the day there will be refreshments.

After workshops there will be pickin’ sessions and at 4pm there will be a sound check in the hall.

At 5pm there will be an evening meal served in the main hall.

The evening concert will start at 7:30pm with The East Anglian Bluegrass Boys

JOHN PEARMAN
Just heard the sad news that John Pearman (Founder/Organiser of East Anglia Bluegrass Festival) has died today (9th October 2006) from his battle with cancer.
I visited John at his home only a while back where we sat chatting about the East Anglian events. John then told me out of the blue that he was getting married the next day. That was one of his wishes and he did and I'm pleased it came true for him and Krystyna.
Our thoughts are with John, Krystyna and family.
John's funeral will be held on Friday the 20th October at 12 noon. Steeple Morden Church, Steeple Morden, Nr. Royston, Cambridgeshire. Parking at the village hall.
There will be refreshments after the funeral at the Banyers Hotel in Royston.

EAST ANGLIAN BLUEGRASS MUSIC EVENTS
Sadly with the death of John Pearman, (founder, promoter and organiser) of The East Anglian Bluegrass Music Events. John's wishes were that the Events & Festivals carry on. He asked myself (Phill Morley) if I would continue to run the events as I had helped him from the start, I agreed that I would and I am very honoured that he had asked me.
We have now set up a comitte and we will be planning events for 2007. The committee have agreed that a percentage of the takings from each event be donated to a cancer fund.
Before John died he was concerned about his bluegrass day on the 20th January 2007. I visited John on a few occassions before he died and we sorted out the 20th January 2007, although John and Richard Butcha (John's right hand man) had done the main work. John was so pleased that he had managed to book the bands hotel up, I felt happy that he was still involved.
So in memory of John Pearman, please come and support one of UK's finest bluegrass events, by doing so not only will you have a great time, but you will also supporting stamping out cancer!
